Robin Richman is currently the band director and piano instructor at McCaffrey middle school in Galt, California. She received her Bachelor’s degree of music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 1978. Following her graduation she went on to win the principal and solo flute position in the Sacramento Symphony Orchestra. She held the principal flute position for eighteen years before returning to school to further her education; earning her teaching certificate from the University of the Pacific. Since acquiring her teaching certificate Robin has taught students of all ages both in the public schools and privately. She has held the position of professor of flute at the University of California, Davis, as well as taught music in the Rio Linda School District, Woodland School District, and the Galt Elementary school district. In addition to her educational positions Robin began teaching private lessons while attending the San Francisco Conservatory. Many of her private students have gone on to attend prestigious universities such as the Eastman School of Music, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and the Herb Albert School of Music at the University of California, Los Angeles. Robin is skilled in teaching all band instruments, brass and woodwinds, as well as piano. She is very proud of her trumpet, clarinet, bass clarinet, baritone horn, French horn, saxophone, and flute students who have gained admission and participated in the All State Honor Bands, All-Northern Honor Band, and Capital Section Honor Band.
